We can provide a range of shelter solutions, depending on how your personal circumstances match our qualifying criteria. We build houses for persons with deeds or long-term leases with income levels between $1000 and $8000. We also provide microloans, materials and technical assistance for repairs and renovations on homes (you supply the labour), up to TT$60,000; this offers an alternative to a full house for persons who do not have land.   Please download the application form and call our office at 675-1222 / 674-5977 / 225-8375 / 225-8403 or email homeowners@habitat-tt.org for guidance on our application process. The following documents are to be submitted with your homeowner application form (available for download here at https://goo.gl/GqmSL4):

  • Property Deed or Rental Agreement
  • Land Tax Receipt
  • Legal Authorization Letter from Landlord
  • Utility Receipts – WASA, TSTT, T&TEC
  • Birth Certificates of all family members
  • Job Letter / Evidence of income (pay slip etc.) or sworn Affidavit from self-employed applicants
  • Guarantor’s Letter & Job Letter
  • Identification Card of all household members
  • Estimate – for Renovation and Completion Only
  • Collateral – Household Items, Car, Insurance Policies
  • Cadastral Sheet

All potential Home Partners are required to pay a $1000 down payment upon submission of their application. This amount is to cover the cost of title searches and site visits (social and technical). If you cannot pay the entire sum at once, we can work out a payment plan and reasonable instalments with you. However, the application will not be processed until the entire sum is paid in full. Please note, this payment is only for the application process; it does not guarantee approval of your application.

DRIVERS:

From the West – Exit the Churchill Roosevelt Highway at Aranjuez North, and proceed along the Aranjuez Flyover to Aranjuez South. Go around the roundabout to head west, on Garden Road. Turn left at the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service Divisional Headquarters, and follow Chootoo Road to the next junction. You will see Habitat for Humanity above the Yufe's Retail Store.

From the East – Exit the Churchill Roosevelt Highway at El Socorro Waterworks, and follow the road past the El Socorro South ECCE and Primary School to the Chootoo Road junction. Habitat Trinidad and Tobago occupies the upper floor of Yufe's Retail Store.

PEDESTRIANS:

At the San Juan / Croisée, cross to the southern side of the Bus Route, and ask the taxis to take you “Over the Highway, to Chootoo Road and the Yufe's Retail Store”.
